Edtech 597: RSS Reader / Twitter

RSS readers allow users to subscribe to magazines, newspapers, etc. and get them all shipped to one convenient location on the web. Google Reader is an excellent source for this. For this assignment I set up a Google Reader for all of my RSS feeds and then created the link to it on my Blog. I also set up an RSS feed for my Blog so that my followers could get the newest entries on their own RSS readers.

**Recently, in July 2013, Google Reader is no longer available and so other RSS readers now need to be used. **

The other part of the assignment this week was to set up a Twitter account and to also set up a Tweet Deck. I have to be honest, I was not excited about either one of these assignments. I never really understood the purpose of Twitter, other than to complain about your life or give students yet another way to be sidetracked in class. But I gave it a shot.

So, here is my Twitter Account and my first tweet along with my Tweet Deck, or the start of it.
